"Rose") McGowan was born on September 5 in 1973. She is an American
actress. Following her debut film in a short role in the comedy Encino Man
(1992), McGowan was recognized for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation
(1995) and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut
Performance. Her breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) and then
headlined the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and
Jawbreaker (1999). In the decade 2000, McGowan became known to viewers on
television for her performance as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama
series Charmed (2001-2006). McGowan also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and
Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) and for which she
received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and for the
Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. In 2014, McGowan appeared in Chosen, an
action-thriller television series. The actress released Planet 9, her first studio
album in the year 2018, and a repackaging was done in 2020. McGowan was honored
by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017.
She made a statement about harassment and sexual assault and in particular the
Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In the year 2018, she released Brave, a
memoir, and also appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
