Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her film debut was in Australia in For Love
Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of
Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts was an
unpromising actress when she first arrived in the United States. She acted in
small-scale films and eventually was a professional actress. Her rise to fame
internationally was spurred by the role. Watts was then in the role of a
tortured journalist in The Ring (2002). She was nominated to the Academy Award
for Best Actress for her portrayal of a grieving mother in Alejandro film 21
Grams (2003). Watts's profile continued to rise with starring parts in I Heart
Huckabees (2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) as well as The
International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress
for her role in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the 2010s, Watts was
in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While
We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a
star in blockbuster film, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
